about
This song is a much less allusive, in comparison to 'Omnipresence'. It's another description of entitiy, from it's point of view. With proper insight, you can see how the entity is in our blood and it's that entity that drives us to destroy ourselves. We're told in the chorus about how the flame (destruction both figurative and literal, considering the war in 'From Lambs To Lions') will never leave. It will follow us forever.
And alas, the monologue is an excerpt (only cinematically, not an actual excerpt) from the event horizon just before 'From Lambs To Lions'.
lyrics
You're waiting in line, waiting in line for your life to end,
never wondering how you got here.
But I can tell you that it's all (all) in your head.
Self immolation's in your nature.
And the flame will follow,
follow you down.
Arson!
Incinerated innovation.
Decrepit features rise from the basin.
You're waiting in line, waiting in line for your life to end,
never wondering how you got here.
But I can tell you that it's all (all) in your head.
Self immolation's in your nature.
And the flame will follow,
follow you down.
(Monologue)
They calculated collapse, not knowing that it's inherent in their nature. We lit up the sky... and we boiled the oceans... and the flame will follow.
