about
This song was the first one we wrote and the real introduction to 'Entity'. In 'Omnipresence' there is no real definition of "I" and yet there are many descriptions listed throughout the song. The first verse suggests that the narrator was welcome and perhaps, largely unnoticed. The second refers to the plague of mankind. A clever play on words that gives you a more definitive hint as to who "I" is. The plague that plagues mankind is the plague of mankind. Think about that one.
"I am god, I am man."
"I am malignant, I am everywhere."
Anathema is solid proof that the entity is evil. Here to set the sky on fire.
lyrics
In 1984, I rung the bell and you opened the door
as free slaves, slaves of the everlasting omnipresence.
I am the plague of mankind;
the disease rooted in all minds.
I am the shepherd and the herd;
all-encompassing mass of cancer.
Set the sky on fire!
(on fire)
I am the frost rooted in the trees;
the shiver of death.
I am the napalm that's in your veins;
irrevocable hate.
Anathema
I am the plague of mankind;
the disease rooted in all minds.
I am the shepherd and the herd;
all-encompassing mass of cancer.
I am the frost rooted in the trees;
the shiver of death.
I am the napalm that's in your veins;
irrevocable hate.
Set the sky on fire!
